Archival Concert of “Of Thee I Sing” at University of Michigan – November 3, 2024
Concert Version of “Of Thee I Sing” Coming to the University of Michigan
On November 3, 2024, the University of Michigan will host a special concert-style production of Of Thee I Sing, the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical by George and Ira Gershwin, with book by George S. Kaufman. This satirical comedy about a presidential election, originally performed on Broadway in 1931, will feature U-M faculty, performers from the Musical Theater Program, and a Broadway-scale orchestra. The show’s timeless political humor feels just as relevant today as it did nearly a century ago.
