PLAY CATALOGUE

Library of america Collection

Nine of Kaufman’s most popular and influential plays have been collected in Kaufman & Co.: Broadway Comedies, published by the esteemed Library of America in 2004.

This collection, the most comprehensive edition of Kaufman’s plays, is only the third volume of plays published by the Library of America, and the first devoted to stage comedies. The Boston Phoenix called the book “the best anthology of American plays that anyone’s put out in years.”

Critic’s Choice

Among Kaufman’s successes are more than a dozen plays admired by critics and audiences alike but without extensive histories of revivals. The underappreciated gems are perfect candidates for revival and rediscovery-some of them have made theatrical history or inspired beloved musical or film versions.
