Spring 2026 Updates: New Productions, Galleries & Licensing Updates
Several new developments surrounding the work and legacy of George S. Kaufman are underway this season, including upcoming productions, newly added archival galleries, editorial features, and licensing updates connected to Kaufman’s theatrical legacy.

Upcoming Productions
The 2026-27 theatrical season will feature at least two high-profile productions of George S. Kaufman comedies. The Pioneer Theatre Company in Salt Lake City, will produce Kaufman and Hart’s The Man Who Came to Dinner in early December and Opera Philadelphia will produce the rarely seen 1933 Let’ Em Eat Cake, the sequel to Of Thee I Sing, written in collaboration with Morrie Ryskind and George and Ira Gershwin, in 2027.

Kaufman’s friend and collaborator, the great American novelist Edna Ferber now has her own dedicated website, featuring information about her life, works, literary legacy, and ongoing productions at www.ednaferber.org.
